Henry is 5 months!

Henry turned 5 months on Saturday! Yes, I am behind.

As of about a week ago, Henry has started blowing raspberries like crazy. It's his favorite new thing to do.

Henry is consistently sleeping until about 4 or 5 in the morning. He still wakes up 2, maybe 3 times between 8 and 10pm, but he just fusses a few minutes and goes back to sleep.

As of last Thursday, we have a cereal eater! Henry isnt just taking to cereal well, he absolutely, positively loves it! He grins while he eats, and if you don't shovel it in fast enough, he gets a little testy. The child doesn't even need a bib. He consumes every last tiny bit of his food. Well, except for that "yittle bite" he always graciously shares with his big brother, who always makes a grossed out face, but then tells us he likes it to protect his pride after he has insisted on his "yittle bite." I digress. I'm excited about giving him some real baby food, but with the cost of organic baby food these days, we've decided to go the homemade route. Or maybe its just a good excuse to buy this.

At any rate, its going to have to wait until after Christmas.

Henry is up on his hands and knees! He'll be mobile in no time, and there's no telling what he and his brother will be getting into then... I truly worry.

I say this with no exaggeration - Henry absolutely loves John Dickson. It's easy to get Henry to smile or to laugh by tickling him, but John Dickson knows how to be funny to Henry. He makes him crack up - huge belly laughs - like no else can. Including my funny husband.

Henry went to his first birthday party last weekend. More on that later.

That's about it for Henry's new happenings! Pictures to come, including decorating for Christmas, Ella's birthday party, Henry eating his big boy food, cousin baths, brother baths, and Hen in his knee socks. In the meantime, I'm going to go continue being shot by my 2 year old wearing his golf bag on his arm and pretending to be a space ranger. "Wasnt me Mommy, it was space ranger."

Tonight's the Night

"Tonight's the night." These are the words I spoke almost every night before bed, up until recently, truly believing that one of these days, Henry would surprise me. As my husband pointed out, these are also the words spoken by Dexter every night before he, well, you know...

Aaaanyhoo, John Dickson has been in Winston Salem all week just having a MISERABLE time, from what I hear. And when I say MISERABLE, its dripping with sarcasm. You can take a peek at his Tuesday here where he helped Ms Ella celebrate her first birthday. (HOLY COW Ella is one!!!!)

So while John Dickson has been gone, Henry has been an angel. I mean, he's always good, but this week, I don't think he has cried one time. And that's no exaggeration. He's kicked the talking, cooing, laughing and smiling up quite a few notches, and we believe he is trying to capitalize on what he believes to be an opportunity to pull ahead into favorite child territory.

Last night was our last night just the three of us, and Henry knew he had to go big or go home. He pulled out the big guns. Last night was the night.

He slept. 9 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Hen, we don't do favorites, but nicely played my dear. Very nicely played.
